Changes module

The Changes module manages the project change control process, from identifying a variation to formally approving a change order.

Flow​

Change Request (CR) → Impact Analysis → Change Order (CO)

Change requests​

A CR documents a proposed variation to the original project scope.

Create a CR​

Fill in: title, description, origin (design, client, field, etc.), priority, and date.

CR statuses: open → under_review → approved / rejected​

Impact analysis​

For each approved CR, document the impact:

  • Cost impact (additional amount or reduction)
  • Time impact (days of extension or reduction)
  • Affected estimate line items

Change orders​

A CO is the formal document that modifies the original contract.

From an approved CR with impact analysis, click Generate change order. Review the imported data, add CO number and date, then confirm.

CO statuses: draft → pending_approval → approved / rejected​

Traceability​

BuildQuant maintains full traceability between change requests and change orders.

Export changes report​

Click Export in the Topbar to generate an Excel with the complete CR → analysis → CO chain.
